An Awesome DIY Accessory!!!

A great way to make your diy face masks more effective is to make them paper masks, by using paper compressed face masks.

These compressed paper masks are about the size of a peppermint candy in their packaging, and expand when dropped into a liquid.  Once they’ve been throughly soaked, you can carefully unfold the mask and apply it to your clean face.

The difference between applying a diy facial mask with and without paper is significant.

When you apply a mask without paper, the treatment dries faster on your skin and becomes ineffective (unless it’s a clay mask of course). When you apply a paper mask, it

1. Aborsbs more of the treatment

2. Stays wet on your face longer

3. Allows more treatment to penetrate the face and becomes more effective.

Now that I’ve shared these little wonders with you, I’ll be able to post about all the diy paper masks I’ve been obsessed with lately. I can’t wait!

Want to buy these amazing little things? Just google “diy compressed face masks” and find the package right for you!

Oatmeal and Yogurt Mask

This is a great mask for those with sensitive skin looking for moisture, acne fighting, gentle exfoliation, brightening, and soothing. Use twice a week for amazing skin!

What You’ll Need:

2 teaspoons of plain natural yogurt or plain Greek yogurt

2 teaspoons of plain dry oatmeal

Directions:

Mix the yogurt and oatmeal together in a small container. Apply mixture in small circular motion onto a clean, dry face.  Leave the mixture on for ten minutes and rinse with warm water (it might be easier clean up if you wipe off all the oatmeal with your fingertips and toss it in the trash, so you don’t have to clean it up in the sink!). Pat dry and moisturize.

Enjoy!

Dry Winter Hair Creeping Up on You? Try This!

Try this next time you take a shower; especially as the weather gets colder:

After you shampoo your hair, apply conditioner or a deep conditioner generously and put a shower cap over your hair immediately.

The shower cap and the steam from your shower help the conditioner penetrate the hair shaft more effectively, amplifying the softening effects of your conditioner.

The Result? Extremely soft hair!

You can also do this outside of the shower so that the conditioner has a longer time to soak in your hair.

Enjoy!

Aspirin Honey Mask

A stable in DIY natural skincare, the aspirin honey mask is great for acne fighting, exfoliating, and moisturizing.

As you may know, aspirin contains a beta-hydroxy acid called salicylic acid that helps to exfoliate dead skin and clear clogged pores. The honey kills bacteria and moisturizes.

What You’ll Need

Uncoated aspirin

Honey (raw would be best, but regular would do)

Water

Directions:

1. Take 3-4 uncoated aspirin, and put onto a plate.

2. Sprinkle a few drops of water on the aspirin, just enough to dissolve the aspirin.

3. Add a few drops of honey

4.  Spread mask onto a clean face.

5. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse.

The proportions of the mask are supposed to be tailored to your skins needs, so there is no wrong way to make this! Just make sure you don’t use the aspirin too often on your face, as it can be irritating.

Enjoy!
